Some call it ‘the Oscars of Fashion’, others call it a gladiator-esque sartorial fight to the death…no matter what you want to call it, the swankiest party formally known as the Met Gala went down last night and it did not disappoint. The theme? Loosely translating to man over other beings, Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology felt very now, as all costume parties oughta. Celebs, style icons, and It-Girls du jour took the theme and ran with it–from Gigi Hadid and Zayn’s literal sexy-robot-power-couple vibes to Karolina Kurkova’s “smart dress” (try “genius” dress).
This is it, folks. The future (of fashion, at least) is here: plug in and buckle up. One way to get in on the trend? With the chromed-out ‘Cosmo‘ platform sandal, as shown below in the outfits worn by the Vogue models in attendance last night:

Meet our good friend Alden.
We love Alden: she just got back from weekend one at Coachella music festival, and she took the time to chat with us about music, style and Luna Flor. What’s Luna Flor, you ask? Read on to find out…
Hard to say! But I was so stoked to see Major Lazer, Zella Day, Rhye, BORNS, Bob Moses and A$AP Rocky.
Don’t wear something that makes you so uncomfortable you can’t enjoy the festival…no doubt one of my favorite things about Coachella is running around, not being held back and feeling free. It’s not worth it to “suffer for fashion” at a special event like this.
I would definitely ban them (sorry to offend anyone!) In a world were anything is possible, I would like to see everyone have a headpiece or accessory that could somehow emulare their most creative thoughts and true happiness. That might sound insane, but it would be such a joy to see, and not to mention fascinating! I’d like to see crazy stars, moons and feather headpieces replace flower crowns. What does that look like specifically? See for yourself:
Wearing the Eye Can’t crossbody and Warren platform espadrilles
In terms of running around the festival…sandals all the way!! I run fast when I’m trying to catch my favorite bands, or when I just want to jump and play.
That’s a hard one…Instagram allows me to create a real photo which I love, and snapchat is so good for catching playful and crazy moments as they come. I would probably say Instagram, just because I find that Snapchat is nonstop and tends to take me away from being in the moment when I get a little overboard with it.
Wearing the Amber ankle-strap sandals and Lyanna silver clutch
That’s another hard one…! I could spend 3 months figuring that out. But off the top of my head, let’s go with Lunar Flora.
It would go down in the desert, maybe Yucca Valley. It would have rad desert houses, tepees, air streams, and tents all around. Bonfires, food trucks, art installations, art stations where people can paint and make things…everything you could ever want to do!
In terms of lineup, I’d try and book artists like Khruangbin, Fleetwood Mac, Allah Las, The Growlers, The Lumineers, Kygo, Sorcha Richardson, Alina Baraz, Alt-J, Odesza, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Leon Bridges and MO.
The notorious fashion festival with great music known as Coachella is going down this weekend…and with it, every outfit cliche under the Indio sun.
So, in the festival tradition of bringing style and music together (and because building a flower crown bonfire isn’t permitted on festival grounds) we drew upon 3 of the most stylish music videos as inspiration for head-to-toe looks. Keep reading for standout Coachella style, without a glitter tat or fringed crop top in sight.
Last summer’s banger has long since surpassed ‘overplayed’ status, but the Bollywood-tinged #sportgoth style featured in the music video is not only timeless, but worth revisiting for inspiration…and a perfect foil to the tsunami of floral kimonos and crocheted crop tops that come with Coachella crowds.
Here’s how we’re styling it:
Animal print sporty bralet, head chain, silver Foxy footbed sandals, Oliver Peoples sunglasses, Moschino biker shorts, Bodi metallic fannypack
90’s-flavored grunge is utterly expected nowadays–shake things up with Shamir’s playfully zany 80’s combinations. Holographic sunnies, pop-art inspired graphics, and powerclashing prints is the name of the game.
Here’s how we’re styling it:
Holographic sunnies, BAM! statement crossbody bag, Saint Laurent denim skirt, the Warren platform sandal, Topshop paisley buttondown
Get Queen Bey’s fly and cocky-fresh with stacks of silver jewelry, boxer braids and an off-the-shoulder monochrome look. (If anyone behind you throws shade for your sick tall hat, turn around and give them Yonce’s double bird.
Here’s how we’re getting in formation:
St. Party’s Day is upon us yet again, and the timing could not be better. This mid-March weather is (disturbingly) beautiful, and it’s safe to say more than the temperature is heating up. Think about it: the whole ‘kiss me, I’m Irish’ vibes make the four-leafed clover the #2 low-key flirtiest holiday flora…behind mistletoe, of course.
This year we’re skipping the crowded pubs, corny parades, and leprechaun get-ups…we’re not even wearing green. And if we end up getting a pinch or two, so be it.
Keep reading for a few festive ways to get your flirt on, and repeat after us: KISS ME, I’M STYLISH
It’s safe to assume there’ll be some crazy stuff going down when a city’s official motto literally calls for ‘keeping [it] weird’ but just imagine how next-level the shenanigans are bound to get during the 9-day, 24-hour, music/film/fashion/tech festival bender known as South by South West–SxSW for short–that barrels once a year through the hip, cultural oasis that is Austin, TX.
